DSA for Bernie We're entering the last month of work ahead of the Washington Presidential primary, our prime time to have hundreds of doorstep conversations with working class people about their lives and how a politics of collective empowerment can make a difference. Our canvasses for the next two weeks are below, and more are posted on our calendar at olydsa.org/calendar. Things are looking really good, and we can definitely win, but only if we keep up the work and continue to build the movement!

Housing The hearing last Friday was heavily packed with landlords and property management company employees bused into town, but the Tenant's Union, the Low Income Housing Alliance, and Oly DSA had a good showing to support just cause eviction protection. It is still important to get comment. You can use this form provided by the Tacoma Tenants Organizing Committee to send a letter to the committee members in support of HB2453.

Labor Providence healthcare workers won big in their fight to protect their benefits and win pay increases through a strong alliance on workers from multiple unions and job categories across the state, with only Swedish holding out. Over 13,000 workers are going on strike today to demand Swedish offer a fair contract. Information, including how to donate to the strike fund is available at through SEIU 1199NW.
